Geico Honda

Eli Tomac

After a 250cc career highlighted by two impressive championship runs, Eli Tomac is ready to take the final step toward the top of the dirt bike racing world. In a sense, Tomac will be a rookie again in 2014 as he graduates to a GEICO Motorcycle Honda CRF 450 for all Supercross and motocross action.”It’s going to be a fresh start for me,” Tomac said. “The 450cc class is the top of the sport, so just getting there is pretty cool. For the first time ever I’m going to be running the full 17 races in Supercross and all 12 of outdoor, so it’s going to be a busy season, but I think I’m ready for it.”

Tomac won a Supercross Lites title in 2012 and last year’s motocross championship on a 250, proving he has the ability to race with the best in the sport. “Once I started winning in Supercross, it began to snowball for me,” Tomac said. “It gave me a lot of confidence in everything I did. After I won the Lites championship in Supercross, I let it carry over into outdoor season. The success helped me get in the right state of mind.”

Tomac said signing a long-term deal with the only pro team he has ever known also will help ease his entry to dirt bike racing’s top class.”There’s going to be no period of transition,” Tomac said. “I really enjoy where I’m at right now. The GEICO Honda team is the perfect place for me. It’s my racing family.”
